Dr. Eiman Gafour
Dr. Eiman Gafour was born in North Africa and received much of her secondary school education in England. After leaving the UK in 1992, her family eventually migrated to Toronto, Canada, where she attended McMaster University and graduated in 1998 with an Honors Bachelor of Science Degree. While attending University, she developed an interest in Optometry and decided to pursue her studies at the Illinois College of Optometry. She graduated with a Doctorate in Optometry in 2003.
Dr. Gafour has practiced in both private and corporate settings, providing comprehensive eye care services in well-established practices with diverse patient bases. As a result, she has had varied experiences, including fitting of regular and specialty contact lenses, diagnosis and management of acute and chronic cases of ocular disease and traditional eye care services. Dr. Gafour is a dedicated eye care professional who finds much fulfillment in taking care of her patient needs and providing high quality comprehensive eye exams. She has participated in an international volunteer mission to Honduras through VOSH (Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity) where she and other volunteers provided eye exams for community’s residents from children through geriatrics. They were also able to provide them with glasses that had been donated. Additionally there was an ophthalmologist in the group that performed cataract surgery. It was a profound experience and one she will never forget.
On a more personal note, Dr. Gafour is a mother of two boys and a girl, and she enjoys spending quality time with her family. Having lived on three continents, she loves to travel, but when that is not possible she settles for going on adventurous hikes with her family, and if time permits reading and sketching in her spare time.
